FAQ

Product Details

Q: Are your tiny plants real?
A: Yes, these are real, live plants! They grow just like any other succulent.

Q: Do the plants actually grow?
A: Yes, they grow slowly due to the tiny pots, similar to bonsai.

Q: How long do they live?
A: With proper care, these tiny plants can live as long as any other succulent. Some of our original plants have been thriving in their tiny pots for over a year. Once repotted, they can grow into full-sized succulents.

Q: What is an adoption kit?
A: When you adopt a plant, you’ll receive a certificate of adoption. The kit encourages you to name, feed, and care for your tiny plant!

Q: How do you get your plants to be so small?
A: We grow them! The small pots limit the amount of nutrients the plants get, which slows their growth and keeps them tiny.

Q: Where do you get your pots?
A: We make them ourselves!

Q: Where do you get your plant stands?
A: We design and manufacture them in San Diego.

Q: Can I repot the plants?
A: Absolutely! Repotting helps them grow faster into regular-sized succulents. You can even propagate new tiny plants by taking a leaf from a full-sized plant and replanting it in a tiny pot.

Q: I just bought a plant; why is the soil so hard?
A: To keep your plant safe and secure during transit, we use a plant-based adhesive that helps hold the soil together. Don’t worry—this glue will dissolve with regular watering. For detailed care instructions, please check out our Care Guidelines.

Plant Care

Q: Can they survive without much sunlight?
A: Yes, they’re adaptable to low-light environments, like offices with artificial light. However, for the best growth, place them in bright, indirect sunlight. A window sill with indirect light is a foolproof spot for most plants in our collection.

Q: How much water do your plants need?
A: On average, water them once a week. Fill the pot to the top, and if any water overflows, use a tissue to soak up the excess. These tiny pots make it hard to overwater because the water evaporates quickly.

Q: Do I need to prune my plant?
A: If you have a leafy plant, remove any dead or yellowing leaves to keep it healthy. If it grows too tall, a light trim can help it branch out beautifully.

Q: What do I do if my plant tipped over?
A: Gently reposition it in its pot and use any extra soil provided to support the plant. Tweezers can be helpful for delicate adjustments.

Q: Why is my plant growing so fast and lanky?

A: Your plant is likely "reaching" for light due to low light conditions, causing it to grow tall and leggy. Move it to a brighter spot with indirect sunlight or use a grow light to encourage compact, healthy growth. You can also trim the top if it’s too stretched.
